Pints of Glory: Austin’s Craft Beer Trail
Pints of Glory: Austin’s Craft Beer Trail

Home to the Best Damn Craft Beer

Austin isn't just the Live Music Capital of the World — it’s also where some of the best damn craft beer is brewed. So, we’ve spent hours, sipping, chugging, and drinking our way around this great city to find the best craft beers. It’s hard work, yes, but we’re always up for a challenge, especially if it’s to find the perfect pint on Austin’s independent beer scene.

We acknowledge that the great state of Texas has MANY amazing craft breweries (don’t come for us DFW), but Austin’s craft beer scene is more than a trend — it’s a culture. Whether you're a die-hard hophead, a lover of lagers, or on the hunt for a funky saison under string lights, Austin has something for every empty pint glass.

So let’s embark on a tour de Pints of Glory, shall we?

  • Jester King Brewery – Curious about spontaneously fermented beers? Then look no further. Just outside the city, this farmhouse brewery blends wild fermentation with Texas terroir.

  • Pinthouse Pizza – Known for their acclaimed IPAs like Electric Jellyfish, they balance killer hops with artisan pizza in a laid-back setting.

  • Austin Beerworks – Their Pearl-Snap Pils and seasonal limited releases are not to be missed! Bonus points for being grid-worthy with bright cans and great design.

  • Meanwhile Brewing Co. – The latest and greatest addition to ATX’s craft beer scene with a sprawling beer garden, live music, and food trucks to keep the vibe going.

  • Lazarus Brewing – A true destination and East Side gem. Offering coffee in the morning, tacos all day, and Belgian-style ales brewed with care.

Many breweries host live music, local food pop-ups, and community events that blend seamlessly into Austin’s rhythm. Conveniently coinciding with the city’s celebrated food truck scene, we encourage you to pair a smoky brisket with a dry stout, spicy birria tacos with a crisp Kölsch, or vegan bánh mì with a citrusy pale ale.

Sips and tips for the trail:

  • Start slow, sip smart. Lots of breweries offer flights or half-pours; we encourage responsible sipping!
  • Hydrate and pace yourself. Especially during the warm summer months, don’t be that guy.
  • Be ready to buy a growler. Many spots let you take home favorites.
  • Ask questions? Brewers and beertenders are a passionate bunch, and paired with that signature Texas hospitality, you’ll find they’re happy to share their favorite beers and stories.
